I spent Thursday and Friday afternoons at No Budget Studio with Dean mixing the Clutters songs we recorded at Southern Engineering. It’s weird — since, as I’ve mentioned before, we kind of set out without a plan — that we ended up with a really great sounding 5 songs. It’s actually a really live-sounding 5 songs. It sounds like a really well-done live recording which is probably a result of having a loose recording setup. It’s a great 7″ for them and I think if we wanted to do more in the future, we’d know more how to approach it so we weren’t stuck recording background vocals during the mix-down (although that turned out great as well and now we know how to do that).
