Joey Ramone was mentioned in the Financial Times over last weekend in a story about Maria Bartiromo (which you can’t read online because of their antique online subscription bullshit). But trust me, I read the print edition.

The profile mentioned Joey to show Maria’s impact on pop culture — i.e. as the most recognized financial journalist in America. Joey began a correspondence with her shortly before his death and immortalized her on his post-humous solo album Don’t Worry About Me with the song “Maria Bartiromo.” The lyrics to which are priceless. When he sings “What’s happening on Squawk Box?” — I am always amused.

Notably, a keen writer or editor titled the article after a Ramones song: “She’s the One.”
