I work with a woman who is constantly invoking the name of her Lord whenever something troubles her. I call her “Lady Jesus.” There was, if you were wondering, a brief internal debate where I considered which was funnier: Jesus Lady or Lady Jesus. I think we can all agree it’s the latter.

Now it’s one thing to call the name of the Son of God when you’re really troubled. Even the non-religious among us have been known to exclaim it or whisper it under our breath when times are hard. But Lady Jesus tends to turn to The Redeemer when, you know, she runs out of staples or she has to call the mailroom to pick up a letter that was misdelivered.

Lady Jesus is having an average day today. She’s called His name but not with the frequency or urgency that she often does.
