When all hell’s breaking loose, you’ll be right in the eye of the storm

One of my favorite scenes from Boogie Nights is in the recording studio when Marky Mark is singing “The Touch” and John C. Reilly is in the control room dancing. The song is amazing and I wondered for years how they perfectly recreated that 80s synth-rock crappiness. Then, a couple of weeks ago, we were discussing the scene at a party and our friend Ben said something like, “Yeh, I remember hearing that song in the Transformers movie.”

Honestly, I thought he was mistaken. I hoped he was. I really wanted to believe that Marky and Reilly wrote that song for Boogie Nights. But Ben was right, of course. And YouTube provides the original music video.
