I like to read at lunch. It’s a nice break in the work day. But often I find that my choice of reading material doesn’t go so well with eating. Case in point, I’m currently reading Lin Jensen’s Bad Dog! which I am really enjoying. I’m not far into the book though and Jensen is still discussing his childhood on his parents’ turkey farm. I’ve forced myself through a couple of chapters that might have been better left for a time when I wasn’t eating a turkey sandwich but yesterday, I finally met my match with the chapter titled “The Debeaking Machine.”

Something told me that chapter wouldn’t go down very well. I saved it til I got home.
