My hometown of Nashville got absolutely pounded with rain this weekend. Something like 15 inches in 36 hours. The city is dealing with terrible flooding.

My parents spent the weekend sweeping water out of their basement and hoping the power didn’t go out so their sump pump would keep working. Though the water did quite a bit of damage outside the house, they are lucky. Many people have been displaced from their homes. The Red Cross is taking people in their emergency shelters and needs donations.

Nashville water reserves are dropping and the city is asking citizens to cut their water consumption in half. You can seen from the photos on Flickr and videos on YouTube that there is a huge clean-up to be done.
