Touchdown Jesus Burns
In other news Touchdown Jesus — the 62-foot-tall statue of Jesus Christ outside Cincinnati, Ohio — was struck by lightning Monday night and burned to the ground. If you’re like me, you think, “How did a statue burn to the ground?” Good question.
It was made of plastic foam and fiberglass over a steel frame, which is all that remains.
You might remember Touchdown Jesus as the cover star of The Carter Administration’s God and Country.
