I headed down to Encinitas last night to hang with David Dewese and see Rheanna Downey at Belly Up.

We had a great time. Rheanna was great. She’s a friend of David’s friends. We hadn’t heard her before the show. She had a huge band with her and they were just awesome at moving acoustic songs out into some atmospheric productions. Lots of players showing a lot of restraint so nothing was too noisy. Opening was Jasmine Commerce and Alex Woodard.

I’d been to the Belly Up once before to see Kaki King. It’s an incredible venue. It was really awesome to see local artists filling it up. I hope Belly Up does that more often.
