Nicole Vaughn @ the Camp
Saturday, I dropped by the Camp and watched Nicole Vaughn play a cool outdoor set. She played with a band but without the full band affair, just a couple of friends playing lead guitar, xylophone, shaker and tambourine. The minimalism of course went over well with me. I love Nicole’s songs. She mixes up rhythms, switches between strumming and finger-picking, has interesting arrangements and most importantly, keeps ’em short. I bought her CD, Say It, but I’m holding off listening to it until I’m on the road this week. I just think it’ll sound even better when I’m driving across the desert.
