It’s Hard to Start Flossing — Jan 4 and 5

Mitch Hedberg had this joke about how hard it is to stop smoking. It’s as hard as it is to start flossing.

Friday, I meditated after I got home from work, before my show. That was a good idea since I stayed out til after midnight.

Saturday, despite having plenty of time to sit and stare at a wall, I procrastinated. And then it hit me: my resolution is to develop a meditation routine, not to meditate for a certain amount of time each day. When I sit for 20 minutes, I feel like it isn’t enough. I want to do 30 minutes a day. BUT why not just do 10 when I feel like I can’t squeeze it in. I did that and I felt so much better. Starting a new routine is difficult enough without adding all these parameters to it.
