I got a text before I watched it saying, “That was anticlimactic.” So I went in kinda spoiled. But opening with the slaughter of the loyal Stark bannermen by the Freys and Boltons was pretty shocking. As was the image of the wolf’s head sewn to Robb’s body. Although that’s mentioned in the novel, it isn’t “seen.”

For all the disgruntlement about Arya not kicking ass this season, I thought she laid out some whip-ass last night.

I was shocked that nothing happened at the Wall with the Night’s Watch or really with Danaerys. Most of this season has been a big tease.
