Spoiler Alert: Game of Thrones, S4E7

Last night’s episode felt slow but in a great way. It was a great example of letting the story be the action. They juggled so many storylines and characters across an hour with such great pace. It was well done.

Tyrion got a couple of gritty conversational scenes — with Jaime, with Bronn, with Oberyn. Each was just a mini opera of emotional tension and release.

The Red Woman casually reveals a whole lot of her priesthood is just parlor tricks to lead people to the “truth.” I loved that scene. Her insistence that Stannis’s daughter and wife go with them when they “set sail” was ominous.

Danaerys finally dresses like a superhero and friend-zones the shit out of Jorah. I’m still not convinced of her leadership abilities but it’s nice to see her give Jorah a win.

Arya and the Hound? Could this be the spinoff we’ve all been wanting. She didn’t even flinch when he killed that farmer and then immediately murders their attacker. It was awesome.

Finally, all of Sansa’s scenes were disturbing. Robin is clearly a mess to get along with. Littlefinger steps way over the line. Lysa is fucking nuts. And then, Littlefinger just cold-bloodedly tells Lysa he’s only ever loved Cat and murders her! It all happened so fast.
