Go to a mini film school this weekend

If you’re not familiar with Tony Zhou’s Every Frame a Painting, you’re in for a real treat. He does short films about filmmaking techniques. Each one is incredibly informative and fun. You’re going to watch all of them. But start with his film on Michael Bay, “What is Bayhem?”

Don’t miss the one on Jackie Chan (it explains everything I hate about how American movies do action and comedy) and obviously you’ll want to watch the one about Scorcese’s use of silence. Even his look at texting in film and television is great.
