He’s a Cop With An Axe

11 December 2012 — My favorite comic book is Axe Cop. It was created by a 5 year old (who wrote the stories) and his 29 year old brother (who illustrated them). So it’s hilarious and bizarre and really awesomely drawn.

I write songs about comic books so I was overdue on this one.

I started writing it before Thanksgiving this year because I played bits of it for Allen during a pre-production meeting the night before Thanksgiving. I finished it up the next weekend. I recorded it all in my house on 1 December 2012. Jeremy Ferguson of BattleTapes mixed and mastered it over the next week.

Recorded by me at my house. I played and sang all the stuff on it. Mixed and Mastered by Jeremy Ferguson at BattleTapes.

Lyrics

He’s a cop with an axe
Flying around on a Tyrannosaurus Rex
He’s got a friend who throws socks that come back
And they’re trying to save the world from the Ninja Moon Warrior attacks

Don’t question his strategy
He knows just what he needs

Someday he may say to you, “You can be on my team.”
You’ll get some mirrored glasses and you can run the good guy machine
He’s President of the World and of karate
And you can be on his team

He’s a cop with an axe
His secret weapon is a golden mustache
But ordinarily he just wears an ordinary mustache
He helps him save the world from the Robot Snow Dinosaur attacks

Don’t question his authority
He knows just what we need

Someday he may say to you, “You can be on my team.”
You’ll get some mirrored glasses and you can run the good guy machine
He’s President of the World and of karate
And you can be on his team
